This Privacy Policy describes how the Alarmaze mobile application ("Alarmaze," "the app," "we," "us," or "our") handles your information.
The short version: Alarmaze does not collect personally identifiable information about you. We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate, which collects anonymous device and usage data. Everything you create in the app (alarms, settings) stays on your device.
Who we are
Alarmaze is an iOS alarm clock app published by Dmytro Samoilov (the "Developer"), an independent developer. The app is distributed exclusively through Apple's App Store.

What data we collect
Anonymous analytics via Firebase Analytics
We use Google's Firebase Analytics SDK to understand how Alarmaze is used in aggregate. This helps us improve the app, find bugs, and prioritize features. Firebase Analytics collects the following anonymously:
- App events — when you open the app, when sessions start and end, when you interact with key features
- Device information — device model, operating system version, language, country (inferred from IP address, then the IP is discarded)
- App information — app version, install source, first-open timestamp
- App instance identifier — a random ID generated on first launch, scoped to this app on this device. It is not your Apple ID, your name, or any identifier that can identify you personally.
This data is anonymous and aggregated. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's data privacy and security documentation.
What we do NOT collect
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact details
- Your real location or precise device location
- Photos, contacts, calendar, or any other on-device content
- The contents of your alarms (labels, times, schedules) — these stay on your device
- IDFA (Apple's advertising identifier). We do not use IDFA, do not request App Tracking Transparency permission, and do not engage in cross-app or cross-website tracking.
- Health, fitness, or biometric data
What stays on your device
The following data is stored locally on your device only and never leaves it:
- Alarm configurations. Times, labels, repeat schedules, snooze durations, per-alarm settings. Stored using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- App preferences. Default puzzle difficulty, default snooze duration, onboarding state, count of solved quests. Stored using Apple's UserDefaults.
- Subscription state. Whether your subscription is active, expired, or in a grace period. Read from Apple's StoreKit framework on demand; not persisted by us.
If you delete the app, all of the above is removed from your device. We cannot recover this data, we have no copy of it, and it never reaches Firebase or any other server.
Third-party services
| Service | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Apple AlarmKit | Schedules system-level alarms | Alarm times and labels you create — on-device only |
| Apple UserNotifications | Local notifications | Notification content scheduled by the app — on-device only |
| Apple StoreKit | Subscriptions and in-app purchases | Your Apple ID's subscription entitlements; processed by Apple |
| Apple iCloud Key-Value Store | Reserved for future cross-device sync (currently unused) | Nothing at present |
| Google Firebase Analytics | Aggregate usage analytics | Anonymous app events, device type, OS version, app version, country (no personal data) |
Apple's handling of subscription and alarm data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Google's handling of analytics data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Subscriptions and purchases
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not see your payment details, your real name, or your billing address. Apple provides us only with anonymized purchase status (whether you have an active subscription) through StoreKit, which we read on demand without storing.
Children's privacy
Alarmaze is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from anyone, including children. The anonymous analytics data described above does not identify individual users. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns, please contact us at the email above.
Security
Data created in Alarmaze is stored locally on your device and protected by iOS's standard data-protection features, including disk encryption when your device is locked. Anonymous analytics data is transmitted to Firebase over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Your rights
Because we hold no personally identifiable information about you, there is no individual record for us to delete, export, or correct. You can:
- Delete all your data by deleting the app. All local data is removed. Any analytics events previously sent will continue to exist in aggregated form on Firebase but cannot be associated back to you.
- Cancel your subscription at any time through iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Reset analytics on your device by deleting and reinstalling the app — a new app instance identifier will be generated.
If you are in the European Union, United Kingdom, California, or any other jurisdiction with applicable data-protection rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, etc.), the above applies. Firebase Analytics is configured to operate in privacy-respecting mode without IDFA collection.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. If we ever begin collecting additional personal data, we will update this policy and disclose the change clearly within the app before any new collection begins.
